Hellos, I’m Electra. On this blog, Dreamer’s Hideaway (used to be called Imprisoned by Destiny and For Everyone… For Tomorrow… For the Children…), you’ll find chapters of my stories, if you were lucky enough to get the password that is ;) or posts of books I recently read, games I finished, am playing, or want to play; things I’ve seen/watched, or want heard of, etc.
Any posts under password protection will be my story posts, also meaning that every single word, idea, character, etc, contained therein also belongs solely to me unless stated otherwise.
Well, I hope you stay around.

heya. /shy look/ yeah, sorry dorry… :’( i haven’t updated for months on end. it’d be a lie if i said i’ve been busy. i haven’t been. well…my definition of “busy” and others definition of it are very, very different. if i’ve been writing, then yeah, i am busy. if not… hehe
i tried writing a few days earlier. wait…no, that’s kinda a lie. i looked at my story summaries and seriously thought about writing again, but… /sighs/ that didn’t go very far. here i am, again, trying to write again. does this really have a point? Read the rest of this entry »

hey there. it’s been a pretty long time. my obsession with mmorpgs completely eclipsed me for a couple months there. sorry sorry. i’m still gonna play them, but with more deliberation than before.
school for Julieta-chama has started, so… and Julio-kun isn’t on everyday. that’s part of my reason. that and…i really need to do something meaningful. playing mmorpgs is good, but it’s not gonna help me with anything. and i have quite literally become a recluse–inside my own home. how long has it been since my last post? months, i tell you. i’ve quite literally become addicted to the mmorpg, Perfect World. i had no intention of becoming so…interested in an mmo other than LC, you could say. however…i absolutely love my wizard. and i am getting so off subject. haha, let’s see…the difference between LC and PW is absolutely astounding. there’s no comparision. of course, the only good things in LC is the fact that my best guild is in LC, i absolutely love TheCalvary-kun, and that our spells are uninterruptible by anything. :D PW, on the other hand, has…well, a huge population. i’ve recently gotten really bad lag, so…i’ve decided to not play my cleric because of it. i don’t notice someone’s hp going down til it’s halfway down. @_@ i want to be of use, however this way, i’ll just end up getting in the way.
you can also completely customize your character, whereas in LC, your customization options are…very limited, gender limited. i really could go on, but i won’t. i like PW better than LC, that’s a very simple truth. and because of that, i am in a bind. i like my guild in LC so much. no other guild i’ve been in even compares. haha, it’s also my first guild. however, all my real life friends are playing PW now. so… /sighs/ i don’t know what to do. Ah, /blushes/ I haven’t updated in quite a while. I haven’t any Snarry or Severitus recs, so… /sighs/ I got hi-speed internet a few days ago, and a new computer a few days after that. :D I <3 this computer—the screen is so~ big! Vista is very pretty, too.
Since we’ve got hi-speed now, I’ve asked my friends to play a MMORPG with me. So…we’ve been playing Last Chaos—which was the cheapest game we could find. Read the rest of this entry »

Hey. I saw Angels and Demons yesterday with four of my friends. *laughs* Well, one of them I only knew through another friend, so it was kind of awkward, but… Oh well. The movie was disappointing–it was too drawn out, to the point that you knew something was wrong, something wasn’t solved, that someone else was involved. All the suspicious people are already dead, so who’s left? *sighs* Other than that, it was pretty interesting. However, one of my friends did note that nothing happens when antimatter comes into contact with matter. I think that that kinda makes sense, but whatever… I kinda only wanted to see the movie ’cause I want to see Vatican City…
Anyways, as my title says–my recommendation is another story by ObsidianEmbrace, The 25th of December, along with its sequel, Beyond the 25th. The first has only 12 chapters, but it’s actually pretty short. One of my teachers, Mr. Hartwig, said that shorter sentences have more impact, and that’s so true here. Now I understand what he meant. Well, I did back then, too, but not in reference to my own story. @_@ Anyways, Harry finds out about the prophecy–that he will die if Voldemort dies, but also that they are the only ones who can kill each other. I’ve got two stories that are absolute must-reads. The first is a Severus/Harry slash story by the name of “If You Are Prepared,” written by Cybele–a very talented author. It’s divided into three parts: The Truth About Harry, The Boy Cannot Know, and Come What May. It’s considered a “classic” among the Snarry stories, actually, and after I read it…well, it’s an amazing story. It’s written in first person, which I rarely read, but considering it’s a “classic” I decided to read the whole thing, and… It’s a heartbreaking experience. One of those stories that is written so well that you could read it again, but…it’s so painful that you’d rather not. Read the rest of this entry »

This story, my “shinigami” story, is what I turned in for my “end-of-the-year” project for my college composition class. We got to choose from various things, but out of all of them, I chose the one I’d be the most comfortable with. I had to write a historical fiction story, and…well, originally, I was going for an Elizabethan age one, but…the teacher informed us that we’d have to write the dialogue like it was back in the Elizabethan age. And…that’s when that category lost everyone, ‘cept for like two students. One of them being me.
Anyways, I had to choose a time period I’d be at least somewhat familiar with, so I chose Japan’s feudal era. ‘Cause, you know, you’d have to translate the Japanese to English, right? So…dialogue problem fixed! Not to mention, I’ve got hundreds of source materials at home. I just recently watched Rurouni Kenshin, which is based on the feudal era, so I used that as my reference. The theme…was harder. But I had recently started listening to Within Temptation, and my most favorite song then was Pale. A song about…well, pain, but having the strength, no matter how minute it might seem, to stand up to it and persevere.
I’d like to firstly say that…I do not like this story. I got an A on it, and my teacher wanted to keep it, but…I still don’t like it. Everything’s…I dunno. It’s stiff. Not smooth. And it drives me nuts, but whatever. *laughs* You should probably be reading this after you’ve read the story. Anyways, I’ll shut up now. Please leave a comment, I’d like to hear what you think, no matter if it’s criticism–as long as it’s constructive. Read the rest of this entry »
